E-Waste Policy for SJ Device Doctor

At SJ Device Doctor, we are committed to protecting the environment through responsible e-waste management. This policy explains how we handle electronic waste so that it is disposed of safely and sustainably.
1.1 What is E-Waste?
E-waste means discarded electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, tablets, batteries and other gadgets that are no longer in use. These devices can contain harmful materials such as lead, mercury and cadmium, which are dangerous if they are not recycled properly.
1.2 Our Commitment

- We aim to reduce the environmental impact of e-waste by making sure devices are properly dismantled, reused or recycled in line with industry standards.

1.4 How to Dispose of E-Waste
- Drop off your old devices at our Maidenhead shop (1 Providence Place, Maidenhead, SL6 8AG) or our Milton Keynes shop (Fones Clinic MK, Market, Milton Keynes MK9 3BA), or contact us to ask about a pick-up.
- If you are disposing of a phone, tablet or laptop, please back up anything you need and erase your personal data first (see 1.6).
1.5 Recycling Partners
We work with certified recycling partners who comply with local and international e-waste regulations. We make sure devices are processed in a way that minimises harm to the environment.
1.6 Data Security
- Before handing over a device, please back up your data and wipe it of all personal information (for example by signing out of your accounts and doing a factory reset).
- SJ Device Doctor is not responsible for any data left on devices that are handed over for recycling.
1.7 Legal Compliance
We comply with the UK regulations that apply to e-waste disposal and work to keep our practices to high environmental standards.
